Hello December ✯

Winter finally came. December!Get prepared for really cold days and some snow {please}! Knit your own scarves, beanies, gloves and sweaters and don't be afraid of anything. Make hot tea and savoury cakes. Ιnvite your friends at home. Watch some movies, chat and play games! Gather at lovely cafes and enjoy some hot chocolate! 

December means Christmas! Decorate your home so that it feels like Christmas! Put on some Christmas songs and dance at your living room. Make plans for Christmas! Give love to your favorite people and to people who need it! Be imaginative and creative! Don't lose every signle day of December! Do things you love and make you happy!

Sprinkle your life with some Christmas vibe ❆

Tα  Χριστούγεννα πλησιάζουν. Το σπίτι ντύθηκε στα χρυσό-κόκκινα όπως κάθε χρόνο. Το δέντρο στη γωνία του. Φωτάκια, γιρλάντες, χριστουγεννιάτικα στολίδια παντού. Τα μελομακάρονα, το χριστουγεννιάτικο τσάι, η κανέλα, το μοσχοκάρυδο, το γαρύφαλλο και τα πορτοκάλια έχουν ντύσει με μία μοναδική γιορτινή μυρωδιά και διάθεση το σπίτι.  Την ώρα που γράφω αυτό το ποστ, στο φούρνο ψήνεται ένα υπέροχο αλμυρό κέικ με κάποιες γλυκές εκπλήξεις στο εσωτερικό του. Έχει σκοτεινιάσει για τα καλά..οπότε δύσκολη η φωτογράφιση. Αυτό είναι που δεν μου αρέσει στο χειμώνα! Νυχτώνει πολύ νωρίς! Αλλά μάλλον αυτή είναι η μαγεία για όμορφα χουχουλιάρικα απογεύματα με λευκά και πολύχρωμα φωτάκια να τρεμοπαίζουν γύρω σου!  

Οι δρόμοι του Βόλου φέτος ντύθηκαν στα μπλε! Όμορφα, δε λέω χεχε ;) Το χριστουγεννιάτικο χωριό νομίζω ότι φέτος είναι πιο γεμάτο από ποτέ. Φωτάκια σε όλα τα χρώματα και σχήματα, χιονάνθρωποι, ελάφια, κεριά, φάτνες, λούνα παρκ. Οι φούρνοι και τα ζαχαροπλαστεία εκθέτουν περήφανα μελομακάρονα και κουραμπιέδες σε μεγάλες ποσότητες. Εεε θα πάρεις λίγα..για το καλό! 

Ευτυχώς που ο καιρός έχει κρυώσει αρκετά για να φορέσουμε κι εμείς τα καλσόν μας και τα ζεστά, πλεκτά κασκόλ και σκουφάκια που περίμεναν υπομονετικά στο συρτάρι. 

Χριστουγεννιάτικη playlist?  Αυτό το έχει αναλάβει ο κύριος Buble.

Cat chica. Our home has been something like a cat shelter this year. 6 cats so far. All black, black n' white, ginger, grey and a blonde-brunette mix! A happy family, as I'm saying on our Instagram account. Eating, playing, hugging and sleeping all day long. Yeah, that's life! Pet them continuously and they will love you forever. Scratches are not missing of course! As in every relationship, you have good times and bad times! You see our cats in the pics for the "Hello, month" series. This little sweetie is entagling in my feet all the time and so she is not missing from every single pic! Αlso, she fancies smelling and eating chalks while photoshooting.  She ends up with a colourful fur. So cute! 

hello November ✿

 November. We are heading to winter and Christmas, of cource. Rain, wind, cold! No more naked legs. Colourful tights babe! October was all about rain! Raining non stop! It was a busy month for me..but a beautiful one! Teaching two little kids! Dancing afternoon and nights. Salsa and lindy hop! Wine nights with friends! Lovely days!

Vanilla cupcakes ✿

Tα πρώτα κρύα ξεκίνησαν για τα καλά. Βροχές. Χειμωνιάτικα πρωινά συνοδευμένα από ένα ζεστό αρωματικό τσάι ή μία κούπα καυτής σοκολάτας. Υποχρεώσεις πολλές. Δουλειά, όμορφα διαλείμματα με την παρέα σου. Πού καιρός για μαγειρικές και ζαχαρο-περιπέτειες? Αυτά τα κάπκεικς ήταν ουσιαστικά "δωράκι"για μια φίλη της μικρής αδερφής (ελαφάκι Νο.3). Βρήκα αυτή τη συνταγή εδώ, μπήκα στην κουζίνα, μάζεψα τα υλικά που χρειαζόμουν και ξεκίνησα. Επειδή όμως ήμουν κάααπως αφηρημένη, δε χτύπησα το βούτυρο με τη ζάχαρη. Έτσι όπως πρέπει δηλαδή. Ε νομίζω πως τα υλικά κατέληξαν στο μπολ να χτυπιούνται όλα μαζί. Αυτό νομίζω πως επηρέασε το αποτέλεσμα. Τα κάπκεικς δεν ήταν τόοοσο αφράτα αλλά εντάξει ήταν νόστιμα. Γι'αυτό δεν θα σας γράψω τη συνταγή όπως άλλες φορές. Δεν ήταν και από τις αγαπημένες μου τελικα χεχε. Τη βουτυρόκρεμα την έκανα εκείνη την ώρα, προσθέτοντας όση ζάχαρη άχνη χρειαζόταν κατά τη γνώμη μου. Η βουτυρόκρεμα είναι μία πικρή ιστορία αλλά αυτή τη φορά κατάφερα να μην κάνει αυτόν τον εκνευριστικό ήχο η ζάχαρη άχνη, "χρίτσι, χρίτσι". Νομίζω πως το μυστικό είναι να μην κοσκινίζετε τη ζάχαρη πριν...αλλά δεν και σίγουρο...το ψάχνουμε ακόμα! Επίσης, αυτή τη φορά χρησιμοποίησα βιτάμ soft και όλα πήγαν μία χαρά. Good! ;)

The first cold days of autumn are oficially here. Rain. Cold mornings with hot flavored tea or a mug of hot chocolate. A lot things to do. Job, lovely breaks with your friends. No time for cooking and baking adventures. These cupcakes were made as a "gift" to my sister's (deer no.3)  friend. I found the recipe here, got in the kitchen, found the ingredients needed and started the making of. But because i was kinda muzzy I forgot to beat firstly the butter with the sugar and I ended up mixing the ingredients all together. This affected the result and so the cupcakes were not so fluffy but they were tasty. And because of this, I won't write the ingredients and the process as I use to do. And you know..this recipe was not one of my favorite after all hehe. I made the buttercream on my own adding as much icing sugar as I thought it can make the best buttercream. Buttercream is a sad story but this time the icing in the cream was not that obvious making the usual annoying sound "krits-krats" as the previous times. I think that the secret is not to sift the icing sugar before. But I'm not so sure. We are gonna make a research and tell you the results hehe. Also, this time we used a soft butter (not the unsalted used in pastry) and everyhting went well. Good :)

Bήματα. Μπροστά, πίσω, πλάγια, παιχνιδιάρικα, τσάρλεστον. Τα ποδαράκια παίρνουν φωτιά. Πάντα χαριτωμένα όμως. Έτσι προστάζει η μουσική και η φουστίτσα καλέεε! Αυτή πάντα στον αέρα! Το χεράκι του παρτενέρ λίγο πάνω από τη μέση και το δικό σου κάπου εκεί στον ώμο του. Αχ αχ! Ξεκινάει η μουσική. Εχμ δεν σου είναι οικείος ακόμη ο ρυθμός. Πότε κάνουμε το περίφημο back step- rock step; Κρυφοκοιτάς λίγο τα πόδια των άλλων. Το ίδιο και ο παρτενέρ. Αν υπάρχει χημεία -να μου πεις- αυτό είναι περιττό. Το βρίσκεις! Και όταν επιτέλους το βρίσκεις, ακούγεται αυτό το "change"...χμμ άντε πάλι από την αρχή! Εμείς εκεί στη σχολή είμαστε κοριτσοπαρέα. Έχει πλάκα!Δεν πειράζει που δεν έχουμε πολλά αγοράκια. Θα είμαστε συγκεντρωμένες και θα τα μάθουμε καλύτερα! Αμέ! Έτσι λέω. Καινούργια πρόσωπα, ενδιαφέρουσες προσωπικότητες, υπέροχος χώρος, χορός και μουσική. Εντάξει είναι και το όλο στυλ των lindy-hoppers που με έσπρωξε σε αυτόν το χορό. Πάνινα παπούτσια, πολύχρωμες φούστες, φλοράλ και βελούδινα φορέματα, σορτσάκια με παγέτες -είμαστε σεμνά κορίτσια εμείς- ψηλόμεσα παντελόνια, καλσόν και ψηλά καλτσάκια, κορδέλες και φιόγκοι στα μαλλιά, μπούκλες και ρετρό χτενίσματα. Εεεε έπρεπε νομίζω! 
Ποια η σχέση μου με το χορό; Μέχρι στιγμής...καμία! Δεν ήμουν από τα κοριτσάκια που πήγαιναν μικρές μπαλέτο. Δεν ήθελα, νομίζω. Γενικότερα δεν χόρευα. Ντροπαλό κοριτσάκι. Σε αντίθεση με εμένα το μικρό ελαφάκι αγαπούσε από μικρή το χορό κι έτσι κι ασχολήθηκε. Μόνη της για αρκετά χρόνια και στη συνέχεια σε σχολή χορού. Σάλσα lady. Πάντοτε μου άρεσε να τη βλέπω να χορεύει και να τη θαυμάζω γι' αυτό. Ε και κάποιες φορές έβαζα το χεράκι μου σε χορογραφίες της. Αλλά μέχρι εκεί. Δεν δοκίμασα ποτέ να χορέψω. Μέχρι φέτος το καλοκαίρι. Ένα σάλσα bootcamp με τράβηξε κι εμένα εκεί μέσα, στο ξύλινο πάτωμα με πολλούς άλλους χορευτές. Για να ακριβολογούμε κάποιο χέρι με τράβηξε. Δεν είμαι σίγουρη ποιος ακριβώς ήταν αυτός, ούτε αν χόρευε πολύ καλά. Καλύτερα από εμένα βέβαια. Χεχε! Ε αυτό νομίζω πως αυτό ήταν αρκετό για να κολλήσω εγώ και το ελάφι Νο.1 με τους χορούς και όλα αυτά.

 Eνα μικρό μπλοκ ζωγραφικής και μία κούπα με αχνιστή σοκολάτα αρκούν για να περάσεις όμορφα ένα κρύο απόγευμα του σαββατοκύριακου. Λίγη κανέλα και ζαχαρένια αστεράκια δημιουργούν μια έξτρα διάθεση και κρατούν μακριά τη μελαγχολία και τη νοσταλγία καλοκαιρινών στιγμών. Ο ήλιος έχει κρυφτεί για τα καλά. Έξω είναι γκρίζα. Έτσι πρέπει. Το σπίτι ντύνεται στα ίδια χρώματα. Λατρεύω αυτά τα γκρίζα απογεύματα που φωτίζονται από μικρά, vintage φωτιστικά της μαμάς. Λίγη ροματζίλα είναι πάντα ευπρόσδεκτη. Από τα ηχεία ακούγονται παλιά τζαζ και σουίνγκ τραγούδια (πάτα εδώ και θα με θυμηθείς)! Αυτή η μουσική μου θυμίζει Χριστούγεννα, χουχουλιάσματα στο σπίτι ή στο αγαπημένο Petit Fleur. Ωραία πράγματα! Έχεις δημιουργήσει όλη την ατμόσφαιρα! Ανοίγεις το μπλοκ! "Τι να ζωγραφίσω?" Χμμμ... Αναζήτηση στο αγαπημένο Pinterest! In the pursuit of happiness, κορίτσι με μακριά μαλλιά, λουλούδια, ποδήλατα και όνειρα! Αυτό είναι. Πιάνω μολύβι και ξεκινάω! Μου αρέσει η μυρωδιά του φρεσκοξυσμένου μολυβιού και ο ήχος που δημιουργείται όταν ακουμπάει στο χαρτί. Σβήνω, διορθώνω, βάζω χρώμα μέχρι να γίνει όπως το φαντάστηκα. Κι αν δεν γίνει? 49 λευκές σελίδες έτοιμες να φιλοξενήσουν όμορφα σχέδια και σκέψεις. 

Hello October ✿

 October. This month is more like a door to the winter. September was really really rainy but the weather was still really warm. So, we were wearing our summer clothes with some autumnish details, like denim jackets and shirts. Our tights and sweaters are still in the winter wardrobe. We hope that this month will be all about colourful and patterned tights! Warm chocolate and tea in our favorite little parisian cafés! Οh these cafés ❤... they smell like cinammon and chocolate and remind you lovely things! Jazz and blues on the replay! I hope this month is full of happy moments, dance (I'm preparing a post for my dance experience), learning new things and staying positive!

Peach galette with basil ✿

Fall is orange. Peaches are orange. This galette is so orange, peachy and autumnal! I found this video some days ago and I directly fell in love with the shades of it and of cource with this galette. I bought the peaches and got in mom's peachy kitchen to make this loveliness! I have to say that it was one of my best baking times! This galette can be made on summer too but for me It is so so autumnal. It makes the home smell like fall! As for the taste...we all loved it! The crust was really really tasty! The feeling was sweet from the sugar but kinda sour cause the peaches were sour. If you want your galette to be more sweet, choose some ripe peaches or add more sugar! It's a hit believe me! We are gonna  bake one again for sure and of course we'll experiment with other fruits too! Apples and oranges, huh? 

Daytrip to Larisa vol.2 ツ

Kάθε Σεπτέμβριο εμείς εδώ. Λάρισα. Νομίζω πως έχει γίνει παράδοση. Με διαφορετική παρέα κάθε φορά αλλά η Λάρισα, Λάρισα! Αυτή τη φορά πήγαμε να δούμε το γλυκό μας κορίτσι- παπάκι! Τόσο κοντά στο Βόλο, αλλά με το που κατεβαίνεις από το τρένο άλλος κόσμος εκεί! Πυκνοκατοικημένη πόλη, με πολλά μαγαζιά, όμορφα μικρά café για όλα τα γούστα! Ειλικρινά δεν ξέρεις πιο να πρωτοδιαλέξεις! Μου άρεσαν πολύ κάποια vintage μαγαζάκια με σπιτική λεμονάδα! Γιαμμμ! Δεν θυμάμαι τα ονόματά τους βέβαια..αλλά ήταν πολύ πρωτότυπα και ψαγμένα! Τελικά, καταλήξαμε στο Δικαστικό και ήπιαμε παγωμένη λεμονάδα και τσάι! Το ωραιότερο σημείο για εμάς είναι βέβαια το Αρχαίο Θέατρο της Λάρισας! Είναι σαν να παίρνεις μία ανάσα μέσα στην πόλη! Σε κάνει να ταξιδεύεις κατά κάποιον τρόπο ή να χάνεσαι στις σκέψεις σου! Αν έμενα στη Λάρισα ...χμμ νομίζω πως κάπου εκεί θα έμενα με θέα το Αρχαίο Θέατρο! Ευτυχώς δεν έβρεξε όπως πέρυσι και περάσαμε υπέροχα με το αγαπημένο μας κορίτσι!! Κατά τις 8.30 πήραμε το τρένο της επιστροφής για Βόλο. Στη διαδρομή ακούγαμε Μαραβέγια. Σταθερή αξία. Και ο καλύτερος τρόπος να τελειώσει αυτή η μικρή εκδρομή! 

Back to school || Πίσω στα θρανία ✐

Eδώ, στην Ελλάδα σήμερα ξεκίνησαν τα σχολεία. Παιδάκια μικρά και μεγάλα φόρεσαν όμορφα ρούχα και πήγαν για αγιασμό, να γεμίζουν τις τσάντες τους με πολλά πολλά βιβλία και να συναντήσουν ξανά φίλους και συμμαθητές. Τι ωραία στιγμή! Δεν ξέρω για εσάς, αλλά εγώ καθόμουν για ώρες μπροστά στη ντουλάπα για να δω τι θα φορέσω την πρώτη μέρα στο σχολείο. Ήταν κάπως σημαντική η πρώτη μέρα...μάλλον! Το πρωί της πρώτης μέρας ξυπνούσα πάντα πιο εύκολα, γρήγορα και με περισσότερη διάθεση από τις υπόλοιπες μέρες. Εκείνο το πρωινό μυρίζει αλλιώς. Αισθάνεσαι το κρύο λόγω της πρωινής ώρας να χαϊδεύει τα γυμνά -ακόμα- ποδαράκια κι έξω μυρίζει τόσο διαφορετικά. Μυρίζει σχολείο! Νοσταλγία...εεε λίγο! χεχε

ice-cream & back to school ✐

Autumn means: hot chocolate instead of ice-cream and back to school! In my case none of these are happening this autumn. I'm still eating ice-cream even if my throat doesn't like it! Sore throat on the way! The weather is still warm. This is the excuse yeah! This year is the first one without school or university. I never thought I would tell it but I miss school and university lessons! I love this every year routine of buying new notebooks, pens, studying and being mad about that, keeping notes, being bored during classes and instead of listening to the professor you are chatting with your friends or just daydreaming. The smell of school, books and pencils and generally the feeling of being a student is priceless. I will miss that! It's an end of era for sure! To make this change smoother, I bought myself this lovely Minnie Mouse metallic pencil case and some nude pencils. I'm thinking of drawing the way I want the pencils. I have made one with polka dots so far.

Pancakes on a rainy day ☂

 Autumn. Today here in Volos was raining at the morning. I woke up and opened the window. The sky was grey and the first raindrops had already soaked the road. The chalk written "hello September" has already disappeared. Melancholia. Autumn does its best to prove that is here for good! So, there is nothing better than pancakes to say "Welcome". Pancakes with merenda or for those autumn lovers, pancakes with honey and cinammon. Yeah, a more autumnal choice. Make some pennants out of paper to celebrate the first raining days...celebrate...oh well...an attempt to avoid being melancholic and sad! Grab a book or draw something while enjoying rain! 

Note no.1: I haven't read "De profundis" by Oscar Wilde yet. I just loved the cover. Guilty!

hello September ✿

  September. The first month of autumn. New season. New start. We leave behind us every single summer moment that made us blue and -of course- we will keep forever the lovely moments with people we love. Look back! Of course you had those moments which are still making you smile. Fun and laughing with friends, long long conversations, swimming and dancing like kids,  hiding from people and making silly stuff with the girls, eating corn at the seaside late at night and joking, learning salsa and dancing with strangers -feeling free-  meeting new people, taking my diploma, hiking and getting lost in unknown places. . .but when having friends this is not a problem, camping and sleeping in a tent while listening to reggae music. Those are memories to collect ♡ Those saying that "Best things in life are not things" are totally right! And you know, happiness is hidden in the little everyday things! Just go and search for them! September is like the start of a new year for me..maybe because I have combined it with the start of school year! September is orange and smells like cinnamon. I can't wait to start new activities (❤), bake donuts, wear printed socks and sit with my sisters in the living room while watching our favorite series and drinking hot chocolate! Long, long conversations, singing and daydreaming are welcome, too!

Graduation*

Graduation. 4 years full of new experiences, books, studying, kids, new friends, happy & carefree moments. Students. And you were saying that you're fed up with all those tasks and studying. Now? You miss them, right? It's an end of an era. Of course you miss them! And now the graduation is just around the corner. Kinda nervous, in the search of the perfect dress, preparations, gathering all the people I love and want to be there with me. Graduation time. 12.30 midday. You're awake by 9am. Hair, crimson lipstick, my perfect floral, 50s inspired pink dress and off to the university. Girls and boys in their best outfits, smiley faces, laughs, colourful bouquets, photographs to capture the moments. Α lovely smile from people you love. You miss some of them but you know they are mentally with you. Smile for that. The time has come. Wearing the black graduation toga. It didn't feel like Harry Potter, as I thought it would be. I would wear it every day hehe...or at least one more time. Cheering, applause, streamers, confetti, whistles...the degree and we are graduated teachers. HURRAY! 

Emotion, delight and party! 

 All your friends are graduating, too and going back to their hometowns. Sad moments. But you made friends for life and created memorable moments! Let's smile for that and throw confetti in the air, creating a colourful sky!

Lemon cupcakes with lemon curd and a little chocolate surprise ♡ Kάπκεικς λεμόνι με σοκολατένια έκπληξη, λουλούδια και παστέλ βέσπες!

Cupcakes for summer? Yeah...not such a refreshing delicacy, right? Τhese caupcakes are way different! They are really light and refreshing because of the lemon curd! The merenda surprise inside is an extra present and an interesting combination with the lemon! These cupcakes were made by the youngest deer (deer No.3), who finished her exams and got in the kitchen for the first time! She used the recipe for the Lemon Cupcakes with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting .The only difference is that instead of the cream cheese frosting she used lemon curd and she added some merenda inside the cakes! Well done little deer ♡ Also Ι took in my hands my brushes and watercolors again and made this mint vespa! Love vespas so much  ♡
