"Bedtime stories"
Νοέμβρης. Ο μήνας του χουχουλιάσματος. Ο μήνας που επιβάλλεται να χωθείς κάτω από τα σκεπάσματα με πυζάμες και ζεστή σοκολάτα. H συσκευή για ποπ κορν παίρνει φωτιά κι εσύ τρέχεις να προλάβεις την αγαπημένη σου σειρά. Βάλε γρήγορα ζεστό καλσόν και παλτουδάκι και τρέξε στο αγαπημένο σου καφέ για σοκολάτα κι ένα κομμάτι φθινοπωρινό μπράουνις με κάστανα. Μπρρρ!
Αυτόν το Νοέμβρη μην ξεχάσεις:
- Να μάθεις να πλέκεις το δικό σου κασκόλ
- Να φας τόοοοοσα πολλά κάστανα
- Να στείλεις ένα δώρο από τα χεράκια σου στην αγαπημένη σου φίλη/φίλο
- Να περιμένεις με μεγάλη αγωνία τα φετινά Χριστούγεννα
- Να γεμίσεις τις λίστες σου με σχέδια, συνταγές και DIY για τις γιορτές

Φθινόπωρο για εμάς σημαίνει σχολείο και μηλόπιτα. Όχι μία οποιαδήποτε μηλόπιτα . . . Μόνο η μηλόπιτα της μαμάς! Όποια άλλη και να έχουμε δοκιμάσει δε συγκρίνεται με τη μυρωδιά και τη γεύση αυτής. Πόσο αφράτη! Καρυδάκια, καραμελωμένα μήλα....αχ! Απλά υπέροχη! Είναι η πρώτη φορά που δοκιμάσαμε να τη φτιάξουμε και μπορούμε να σας πούμε πως είναι πολύ πολύ εύκολη πέρα από πεντανόστιμη! Εντάξει, οφείλουμε βέβαια να παραδεχτούμε πως παρόλο που εκτελέσαμε βήμα-βήμα τη συνταγή . . . ποτέ δε θα έχει την ίδια γεύση με αυτή της μαμάς. Είναι αυτό το μαμαδίστικο συστατικό . . . μάλλον αυτό είναι!

Με την πρώτη ματιά αυτή η συνταγή μοιάζει περισσότερο με φθινοπωρινή. Αλλά όσο υπάρχουν μήλα, γίνεται να μην ψήνεις και να μην αγαπάς τα μηλοπιτάκια; Τα πιο νόστιμα γλυκά πιτάκια κατά τη γνώμη μας! Και όταν μάλιστα μοιάζουν με χιονισμένα τριανταφυλλάκια και είναι τόσο εύκολο να τα φτιάξεις . . . τότε, πραγματικά, δεν μπορείς να αντισταθείς! Βέβαια, να μου πείτε ο καιρός σε ολόκληρη την Ελλάδα -σχεδόν- αυτές τις μέρες θυμίζει περισσότερο με φθινόπωρο παρά με καλοκαίρι. Βροχές, μπουμπουνητά, γκρίζος ουρανός, πουά ομπρέλες και ζεστά ροφήματα. Ας ελπίσουμε πως αυτός ο καιρός θα φύγει γρήγορα και τα τον γκρίζο ουρανό θα αντικαταστήσει ένα γαλάζιος ουρανός με μικρά συννεφάκια - ταξιδιώτες.
Αυτές τις μέρες αγοράσαμε από το English Ηοme ένα σετ με γυάλινα μπουκαλάκια για παγωμένη λεμονάδα ή οποιοδήποτε smoothie ή αναψυκτικό. Όσοι με ακολουθείτε στο Instagram, θα το έχετε δει σε story. Aνυπομονούμε να σας παρουσιάσουμε μία συνταγή με αυτά. Όπως καταλαβαίνετε έχουμε ήδη μπει σε καλοκαιρινό κλίμα και αρχίζουμε να γεμίζουμε τις λίστες μας με πράγματα που θέλουμε να κάνουμε το καλοκαίρι αλλά και με συνταγές που θα σας χαρίσουμε. Παγωτά, cupcakes -που έχουμε αρκετό καιρό να κάνουμε και να φάμε χεχε- , τάρτες με φρούτα και ιδέες για πικνίκ. Αυτά είναι κάποια από τα σχέδιά μας για το καλοκαίρι. Ποια είναι τα δικά σας;

We are getting ready for autumn. For the real one! A few rainy days and my sore throat (oh yes!) don't fool us. We can't really tell that "Autumn is here"! I can't wait to wear my knit cardigan and my glitter oxfords, to wear my high-knee socks and drink hot chocolate with my boyfriend at our favorite parisian café. Later, when the first dark falls, you want nothing but cuddles at the couch while watching your favorite series.
In the morning, you' ll find a journal full of lists ready to be filled with your weekly program, recommended books and movies.Next to it, there is a mug filled with flavored coffee and some brownies dusted with cocoa powder and some icing sugar.
How beautiful autumn mornings smell like!

September smells like rain and carrot cake. There's nothing better for a rainy day than gathering at home with your family or friends and bake a glorious carrot cake to serve with your tea. Sweet afternoons around the record player, chitchat and delicious slices of carrot cake waiting at pastel plates to be eaten. The only think missing? Some rain and orange leaves, please!

Ιt's September. A couple of days ago we pulled out of the attic the box with our autumn decoration. Brown and orange garlands, leaves, branches, lanterns and pumpkin spice candles. A quite and warm afternoon we all gathered at the bakery and started decorating the place. Dancing in the rhythm of Ella Fitzerald's great hits (luckily my boss loves jazz music and that's why you will find a record player standing next to the shelves with the cake stands) while hanging garlands on the shelves, cupboards and shop windows.
Drin!
The carrot cakes are ready. Baked and smelling like autumn. Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. The secret of autumnal bliss. I love this smell. It makes everything orange and warm. The cream cheese frosting is ready in the fridge in a big pastel pink bowl. Using my spatula I spread this white and fluffy cloud on the cakes. I can't resist dipping my finger in the frosting for a taste. I always do that when nobody watches. This is the fun part of my job. Ohh, that creamy feeling taste and the flavor of orange zest.
"Christina!!", my boss shouted.
"Oops!", I said and smiled like a bunny - carrot thief.

υριακή. Οι αχτίδες του ήλιου ζεσταίνουν το πρόσωπό σου και πορτοκαλίζουν τα πάντα γύρω σου. Το κρύο όμως τσουχτερό! Δύο μικροί εξερευνητές ξεκίνησαν πρωί-πρωί για να ανακαλύψουν το πορτοκαλί μονοπάτι. Πήραν σακίδια, κάμερες, τρίποδα, λίγα μελομακάρονα (ω ναι!) και μπήκαν στο αυτοκίνητο. Προορισμός - το Πήλιο. Όσο πιο ψηλά, τόσο πιο πορτοκαλί θα είναι τα δέντρα, λέγαμε. Χμ, χμ! Δυστυχώς τα πορτοκαλί δέντρα δεν ήταν οσα περιμέναμε. Βέβαια από ένα σημείο και μετά το τοπίο θύμιζε περισσότερο φθινόπωρο. Έτσι, σταθήκαμε σε δύο σημεία, βγάλαμε τρίποδο, κάμερες...και κλικ κλικ (!) να τες οι πρώτες λήψεις. Πόσο όμορφα ήταν! Βόλτα στο βουνό χέρι-χέρι ψάχνοντας όμορφα πορτοκαλί μονοπατάκια και μαζεύοντας φθινοπωρινά φύλλα. Το κρύο πάγωνε χέρια και μυτούλες, αλλά τι σε νοιάζει όταν περνάς τόσο όμορφα! Στο δρόμο της επιστροφής, ένα ζεστό τσάι με καραμέλα και κάτι για φαγητό επιβάλλεται. Ανυπομονησία να δούμε τις φωτογραφίες και να αρχίζουμε να παίζουμε λίγο με τον φωτισμό και τα χρώματα ενώ απολαμβάνουμε τη ζεστασιά από το τζάκι που έκαιγε δίπλα μας. Αυτές είναι όμορφες Κυριακές! Μυρίζουν καραμέλα και είναι γεμάτες αγάπη! Hello October ✿

is finally here. And when I say finally, I mean that it is here for
good. Rain, cold breeze, umbrellas and light coats. Studying is here
for good too. School and college students are back to classes. No
whining for the summer that -yeah- came to its end. Now you can
just look at your favorite summer photos and recollect the lovely
memories. For the sea lovers, I suggest long walks at seaside with
your raincoat on and your umbrella in your hands. For those who love
staying at home, the options are many. Feeling cozy under your
blanket while drinking vanilla-caramel tea or hot chocolate along
with a muffin and your favorite book. Watching your favorite TV
series or hanging out with your friends at home or at your favorite
wine spot. Warm wine and delicious appetizers. Yum yum! Oh those
memories at our favorite wine haunt. Ready for making new ones?

Peach galette with basil ✿

Fall is orange. Peaches are orange. This galette is so orange, peachy and autumnal! I found this video some days ago and I directly fell in love with the shades of it and of cource with this galette. I bought the peaches and got in mom's peachy kitchen to make this loveliness! I have to say that it was one of my best baking times! This galette can be made on summer too but for me It is so so autumnal. It makes the home smell like fall! As for the taste...we all loved it! The crust was really really tasty! The feeling was sweet from the sugar but kinda sour cause the peaches were sour. If you want your galette to be more sweet, choose some ripe peaches or add more sugar! It's a hit believe me! We are gonna bake one again for sure and of course we'll experiment with other fruits too! Apples and oranges, huh? ice-cream & back to school ✐

Autumn means: hot chocolate instead of ice-cream and back to school! In my case none of these are happening this autumn. I'm still eating ice-cream even if my throat doesn't like it! Sore throat on the way! The weather is still warm. This is the excuse yeah! This year is the first one without school or university. I never thought I would tell it but I miss school and university lessons! I love this every year routine of buying new notebooks, pens, studying and being mad about that, keeping notes, being bored during classes and instead of listening to the professor you are chatting with your friends or just daydreaming. The smell of school, books and pencils and generally the feeling of being a student is priceless. I will miss that! It's an end of era for sure! To make this change smoother, I bought myself this lovely Minnie Mouse metallic pencil case and some nude pencils. I'm thinking of drawing the way I want the pencils. I have made one with polka dots so far.
